Register of Good Safeguarding Practices

6th of December 2023, the Nyckelharpa Network was included in the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices for the Intangible Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO.

The proposal was submitted by the Swedish government to the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Kasane, Republic of Botswana.

The application was assessed by an evaluation body and the assessment submitted to the plenary assembly for the final vote.

The special commendation for the outstanding application (point 4) was only granted for this one project.

Following the approval of the Nyckelharpa network's entry in the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices, the Swedish delegation presented a short video as a thank you to the UNESCO. You can view it here.
