Sunniva Abelli (Sweden)

Sunniva Abelli, nyckelharpa player, folk musician, singer, composer and teacher. Holds a BA from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, has studied nyckelharpa at Eric Sahlström Institutet and Stockholms Estetiska Gymnasium and has played and sung Swedish folk music all her life. At the age of 15 she got the Eric Sahlström scholarship and in 2007 she won the Youth Championship in nyckelharpa. Currently she is performing as a solo artist and with the band Tradpunkt, among others. Sunniva is much appreciated for her playing for dance and she educates adults and teenagers in folk music and nyckelharpa.
